The wireless version of one of the most widely praised gamepads ever made. The Xbox 360 controller set the ergonomic template that nearly every modern pad still follows, and cutting the cable is what made it the default for couch multiplayer through an entire console generation.

Its contoured grips and familiar button layout are built for long sessions without hand fatigue. Two textured analogue sticks give smooth, accurate aiming, while pressure-sensitive analogue triggers offer fine control over acceleration and braking. Dual vibration motors provide rumble feedback that responds to what’s happening on screen.

Connection uses Microsoft’s own 2.4GHz wireless protocol rather than Bluetooth, pairing to the console with a single button press. Up to four controllers can connect to one Xbox 360 at a time, with the ring of light around the Guide button showing which player slot you’re assigned. Range is roughly 9 metres.

A 2.5mm headset port on the base takes a compatible Xbox 360 chat headset for online play.
