Apple AirPods Max 2 — Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

Apple’s flagship headphones, now with the H2 chip. Announced in March 2026, AirPods Max 2 keep the iconic design but add better noise cancellation, cleaner sound and a set of intelligent features that previously required AirPods Pro.

Most of the upgrades come from the H2 chip. Apple rates the Active Noise Cancellation as up to 1.5x more effective than the previous generation, and a new high dynamic range amplifier delivers cleaner, more detailed audio along with reduced latency for gaming. Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking creates an immersive, theatre-like sound for films and music.

New intelligent features arrive on AirPods Max for the first time. Adaptive Audio automatically blends noise cancellation and transparency to suit your environment. Conversation Awareness lowers your content and reduces background noise when you start talking to someone nearby. Voice Isolation keeps your voice clear on calls, and Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence, helps with in-person conversations across languages. You can also respond to Siri by nodding or shaking your head, and press the Digital Crown as a camera remote for photos and video on iPhone or iPad.

For wired listening, the included USB-C cable supports 24-bit, 48kHz lossless audio. Bluetooth moves to version 5.3 for more efficient wireless connectivity.

The design is unchanged: aluminium ear cups, a breathable knit mesh canopy that spreads weight across your head, memory foam ear cushions, and the Digital Crown for precise volume and playback control. Battery life runs to 20 hours with ANC on.
