The Elite Series 2 Core is the same flagship controller at a lower price. The hardware is identical to the full Elite Series 2 — same premium build, same adjustable-tension thumbsticks, same hair trigger locks, same rechargeable battery — with the accessory bundle stripped out and the price reduced accordingly.

Adjustability is what sets the Elite apart. Adjustable-tension thumbsticks let you dial in stick resistance to suit your aim, and three-position hair trigger locks shorten trigger travel for faster firing in shooters. Wrap-around rubberised grips keep it secure through long sessions, and the whole controller is built from noticeably higher-grade materials than the standard Xbox pad — it has a weight and solidity you feel immediately.

Connection is via Xbox Wireless, Bluetooth for Windows, Android and iOS, or USB-C wired. The built-in rechargeable battery is rated at up to 40 hours. The Xbox Accessories app handles button remapping, stick sensitivity curves, trigger settings and vibration intensity, with three custom profiles plus a default stored onboard and switchable using the profile button on the front. A 3.5mm stereo headset jack is built in.
