The current-production DualSense, carrying model number CFI-ZCT2W. Externally it’s identical to the original, but internally Sony has reworked the electronics to address the DualSense’s most persistent criticism: battery life.

The V2 uses a redesigned internal board with a more efficient main processor and a low-power Bluetooth chipset. The battery cell is the same 1560mAh as before — the gain comes entirely from lower power draw. Independent testing has measured over 15 hours of continuous play with haptics, speaker and microphone in active use, against roughly 6–10 hours from the original depending on settings. Thermal imaging also shows lower charging temperatures, which helps the cell hold its capacity over time.

Everything else is unchanged. Haptic feedback via dual actuators replaces conventional rumble with far more nuanced sensation — surface textures, impacts, weapon recoil. Adaptive triggers add variable force and tension to L2 and R2. The built-in microphone handles voice chat with a dedicated mute button, and the 3.5mm jack takes any wired headset. Create button, touchpad, motion sensor, built-in speaker and light bar are all present, and the controller charges over USB-C.

Bluetooth pairing extends use to Windows PC, Mac, Android and iOS, including Apple Arcade titles and PS Remote Play.
