The PS5 Pro exists to remove the usual compromise between visual quality and frame rate. Its three headline upgrades work together: PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) uses AI-enhanced upscaling for sharper image clarity on a 4K TV; advanced ray tracing delivers ray-traced reflections, shadows and high-quality global illumination; and optimised console performance holds higher, more consistent frame rates with support for 60Hz and 120Hz displays. On compatible titles you can have 60fps — or up to 120fps — with ray tracing and AI-enhanced 4K resolution running simultaneously.

Storage is 2TB, which matters more than it sounds given modern install sizes. Backwards compatibility covers over 8,500 PS4 games, and the PS5 Pro version of Game Boost improves frame rates in many PS4 and PS5 titles. An Enhanced Image Quality mode adds extra post-processing to lift resolution in select PS4 games. Wi-Fi 7 support is built in for faster transfers with a compatible router, with Wi-Fi 6 and 5 also supported.

The included DualSense wireless controller brings haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which FC 26 puts to good use — tackle weight and shot tension both read through the pad, most noticeably in Career mode.

EA SPORTS FC 26 was rebuilt around community feedback, with two gameplay presets: Authentic, tuned for the most true-to-football feel in Career, and Competitive, built for responsiveness and consistency. Ultimate Team adds Tournaments, Live Events and the Challengers weekend league, while Career gains Live Challenges and an evolving Manager Market.
