Sony’s most powerful console, built to remove the compromise between visual quality and frame rate. On a standard PS5 most games ask you to pick — a fidelity mode with ray tracing at 30fps, or a performance mode at 60fps without it. The Pro’s purpose is to stop making you choose.

Three upgrades do the work. PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) uses AI-enhanced upscaling for noticeably sharper image clarity on a 4K TV. Advanced ray tracing delivers ray-traced reflections, shadows and high-quality global illumination. And optimised console performance holds higher, more consistent frame rates with support for 60Hz and 120Hz displays. On enhanced titles, you can have 60fps — or up to 120fps — with ray tracing and AI-enhanced 4K running at the same time.

Storage is 2TB, which matters given modern install sizes. Backwards compatibility covers over 8,500 PS4 games, and the PS5 Pro version of Game Boost improves frame rates across many PS4 and PS5 titles. An Enhanced Image Quality mode adds extra post-processing to lift resolution in select PS4 games. Wi-Fi 7 is supported for faster transfers with a compatible router, with Wi-Fi 6 and 5 also working.

The included DualSense wireless controller brings haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone. Astro’s Playroom comes pre-installed.
