The thinnest Apple Watch yet, and the first substantial design change to the standard model in years. The Series 10 is nearly 10% thinner than the Series 9 while carrying a larger display, so it reads as a bigger watch without feeling like one on the wrist.

The 46mm model gets a wide-angle OLED display that’s noticeably larger than previous generations, with a new low-temperature polysilicon and oxide (LTPO3) panel. The practical benefit is off-angle viewing: the always-on display refreshes once per second when your wrist is down, so the seconds hand ticks and complications update while you’re mid-conversation or resting your arm on a desk. It’s also up to 40% brighter when viewed from an angle.

The aluminium case is finished with a new wider-angle treatment and comes in Jet Black, Rose Gold and Silver. It’s swim-proof at 50m with WR50 rating, and the Series 10 adds depth and water temperature sensing for shallow-water activities.

Health features include sleep apnoea notifications, ECG, blood oxygen, temperature sensing for cycle tracking, high and low heart rate alerts, and fall and crash detection. The speaker plays music and podcasts directly, and voice isolation improves call quality.

The Sport Loop is the most comfortable of Apple’s bands for all-day and overnight wear — a soft, double-layer nylon weave with a hook-and-loop fastener that adjusts infinitely rather than in fixed notches. It’s the band most people find easiest to sleep in.
