Officially licensed by Nintendo, the Hori Split Pad Pro replaces the standard Joy-Con with two full-size grips that slide straight onto the Switch’s side rails. If you play mostly in handheld mode and find the stock Joy-Con cramped, this is the fix — you get Pro Controller-scale ergonomics without giving up portable play.

The difference is size. Full-sized analogue sticks, a proper eight-way D-pad and larger face buttons all sit where your thumbs naturally fall, and deeper contoured grips take the strain off your hands during long sessions. The shoulder buttons and triggers are correspondingly bigger and easier to reach than the slim Joy-Con equivalents.

Two assignable rear triggers sit on the back of each grip, letting you map face or shoulder inputs somewhere your fingers already rest — handy for keeping your thumb on the stick while jumping or aiming. A turbo function with adjustable rapid-fire speed is built in for each button, useful in shooters and action titles.

Being rail-connected, there are no batteries to charge and no pairing or wireless lag — power comes from the console itself, so it’s ready the moment it clicks on.
