Switch 2 is a substantial step up from its predecessor. Games run on a vivid 7.9-inch LCD touchscreen with HDR support and frame rates up to 120fps, backed by considerably more processing and graphics power. Docked, it outputs up to 4K to a compatible TV. Internal storage is 256GB, expandable with microSD Express cards (sold separately), and all three play modes — TV, tabletop and handheld — carry over.

The reimagined Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically rather than sliding on rails, and each can be used as a mouse in compatible games by laying it flat on a surface. HD Rumble 2 delivers stronger, more varied haptics, and the C Button on the right Joy-Con opens GameChat for voice chat, screen sharing and video chat with a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately). A built-in noise-filtering microphone handles the audio.

Your existing Nintendo Switch library largely carries over, with both physical and digital Switch games supported.
